Got a K610 recently which is a 3G phone, and the battery is rubbish, only last a day or two ... any way around this, like turning off 3G ??
Thanks

Settings->Connectivity->Mobile Networks->GSM/3G networks->GSM only.
That's for a z610, should be the same for a k610 I guess.

Yes - turn off 3G

. Somewhere in Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks and there is a option "GSM only".
But even with 3G activated my battery lasts for about 4 days with regular browsing, calling, listening every day.
Ah yes - switch off bluetooth, too.
Did you charge your battery for approx. 4 hours initially before switching it on? This is very important...

thanks, and yes i did the usual charge / discharge battery thing.
Have turned off bluetooth and see how that goes. If not much better will change to 2g.

The usual charge/discharge is useless with a Li-ion or Li-pol battery.

Which battery does it use, is it the BST-36 or BST-37?
I'm currently using a BST-37 in my K510i out of a K750i, 900mAh compared to the BST-36's 750mAh. The only problem is it's ever so slightly too big, so the rear battery cover bulges slightly at the bottom and it's slightly bending a little clip that's supposed to keep the smaller BST-36 in place, but it works great and I think give slightly longer time away from the charger.

2 days are ok, i literally let suffer my fones at usage, had k610 myself too. If its a brand new one, u have to give more time for the batt anyway to get the best out of it

If the battery is new you have to "break it in". Just means it will need to go through a number of full charge and discharge cycles before it reaches full capacity (generally 7-10 cycles).
