So, I have the Procinfo utility (download from My-symbian) and after I killed all the programs, I then counted the # of processes. The number of running processes was like 74.
Then I closed all my apps on the laptop and open the XP task manager, and guess what?! The number of processes was .... suspense .... 67 ?!?!?!? Yep. Only 67.
What does this tell us bout the UIQ3 implementation?

I would be more concerned with the amount of memory being taken by these tasks versus their quantity. I agree it seems excessive, but maybe there is a legitimate reason for their existence. (Well, I assume this is true - I doubt UIQ would just take up system resources for the fun of it.)
Now, I as much as anyone, am disappointed in UIQ3 so far, but I am not sure the number of running tasks is something to question in itself.
