Hi guys, I'm currently considering an Orange Contract from the Carphone Warehouse with a K800i, and want to know whether they will supply me with an Orange branded fone, or if it is possible for them to offer a standard SE stock version (or similar)!? I know if i do get an orange branded one there are numerous ways to reflash it, but I just wondered whether this can be avoided with Carphone Warehouse!?

Any thoughts are much appreciated!! Thanks...

No mate all phones sold at CPWH are sim free even pay as you go. I think its better going through them as at Orange themselves i would go as far as saying Orange branding is worse than Vodafone. The icons look like they have been drawn by a school boy. Anyway hope that helps.

Most phones on O2 from cpw are unbranded. All T-Mobile and Orange handsets from cpw are branded and locked.

Everytime i have bought from them it has been sim free. I have got several phones before on Orange and T Mobile pre pay and what they do is sell the phone seperate from the sim card. For me its never been the networks own pre pay boxes there and they are always unlocked they even told me that. My brother has an old Vodafone contrav with Carphone and its got no branding and has original Nokia box.

I have seen a few unbranded payg ornage phones at cpw but the original poster was after contract phones and a friend of mine who works there says their systems wont let them plut through an order for T-mobile or Orange with an unbranded handset.

As the last reply said. The system wont put it through.I wanted a simfree w850i on t mobile upgrade and got a branded one.The good thing about it was where the walkman sign is,it said walkman, and it was unlocked. So i got it debranded.

So it was unlocked from the network (SIM free), but had branded software on it?

@ ResidentEvil,When i got the phone, where the walkman sign was,was walkman, not t mobile. In the menu, where the world was it had web n walk, but the phone was unlocked. And the play now had some t mobile software instead. So i went on the net and debranded it.

every phone i've ever bought has been from cpw and always on payg .....and every single time they have been unbranded and sim free thats why i always buy the cheapest no matter what network then just put my own sim in after so if its cheaper on t-mobile i buy it then stick me orange sim after!
