> Rip off O2 GPRS charges
Bookmark topic
I am totally disgusted with the constant rip off charges of O2 and other networks i have had contract with in the past. I have just recieved my O2 bill and for one month as well as make calls and send texts within my allowances i browsed the internet but only used it for browsing and not downloading and my bill has come to over 400 quid and the GPRS charges alone are 350 quid. I am sorry but that is disgusting is it not about time customers in this country were not ripped off anymore. I have friends from Italy and Hungary and they say the networks in the Uk are far more expensive than anywhere else in Europe. Why is this. You cannot justify a bill like that why dont the networks realise this and take a leaf out of T Mobiles book with Web n Walk or like a flat rate per month just like people pay on the internet on a pc. Its a disgusting rip off and i cant understand why its so expensive. I am not paying my bill by the way i am nearing the end of my contract so they can take me to court for all i care its not on charging so much just to browse the internet. Has anyone else out there had my experience like mine.

Ummm, choice springs to mind...
There are 5 networks, and several virtual networks to choose from.
I am on 3-UK with 30 MB free a month, for £5 you can get 1 GB!

I totally agree with you. My bills the last 2 months have been £100 pounds each and its a joke esp when you are used to something like vodafone live who offer free GPRS.

o2 are scandalous when it comes to gprs you could argue it does not tell you how much it charges you and you are not aware of how the charges are created, by saying this and refusing to pay the amount they will refund you the charges, dont go on it again, 3 is one of the best networks for the net, majorty of the stuff is free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo... This comes from Ireland - so, err, networks are "different" anyway ... But remember november: the great "o2 ireland - napster mobile deal"??? To this day (after 100's of tv commercials, etc...) noone, no 1/nO2 can tell you how the kcuf o2 are gonna charge their prepay customers! 2 days ago I was told data traffic charges "won't change"... That's 1cent/kb!!! I.e. €20 - €30 for an average song... It seems to me they just tried to dump loads of k610im's for x-mas (oh, plus free speakers...)... imagine, tv-ads announcing napster on your k610im, and O2 staff say, "I think it'll be 1 cent per kilobyte!?"... Gee, even voda on ready to go here give you a mb for €2.oo
well, maggflodd out

Networks like 3 and Vodafone dont charge you for browsing their own portal but as soon as you browse other sites its then where it becomes a rip off. For instance i was on Virgin pre pay once and i downloaded one file from another site which was only around 200kb on 3G and it used up 8 pound of my credit. Its far too much that is. I have decided never to get another contract again. They entice you in with all this free this free that but in the end its one big rip off. I am sticking with pre pay and sim free.

No one forces you to run up a £400 bill.........thats just your own fault for not being more careful.
If you dislike o2 then leave the network and head elsewhere ...after paying
what you owe of course.
...and no I do not work for them just satisfied with their service and helpfulness.
