I went into CPW yesterday to get "something" on a cheap contract but was informed that their minimum contract is now £30/month making the cheapest phone from them a minimum £360 on a 12 month contract
what are they thinking of? I know I won't be getting any more phones from them, at least not on contract anyway

even before this they didn't do os £20 contract. their minimum for o2 was £25

I purchased a contract on O2 for £20 on a 12 month contract around 12 months back which was a good deal.
Will just go to O2 direct from now on.

don't know about 12 months ago. the last o2 I got from CPW was when the K800 came out and definitly £25 was the min then.
In december I also looked at another phone there and it was still £25 so I was very surprised to get this news yesterday.
I made it clear to them what I thought of their new pricing!

Sounds like they'll be losing lots more customers as £30 pm minimum is just wrong. Over £300 a year, no way.
