Hi All.

this is wierd im able to send MMS but my handset wont recieve them,
has anyone encountered this problem?

all the settings are correct ive had them sent from 02's website but nothing, ive tried to send a MMS to myself but nothing is sent back to myphone, family have sent me a few and nothing..

02 are telling me to take the sim out and wipe it will this work?
cos im doubtful it will - getting the back of the phone is a nightmare tbh it's stuck on the phone lol

Do you have all the normal logos at the top of the screen.

I recently bought a K750i on t-moible and I couldn't receive any mms unless I had sent one first. I also had a red telephone logo with an arrow bouncing off it. This went as soon I sent an MMS.

Yeah all logo's RSS is the main dominant one on the phone tho,
then that 1 where the signal is if you know what I mean Blue above it

is there any free sites which allow to send free media messages?
I could really do with finding sumat like that to test it thoroughly before I go and see 02 at the shop

Not that I know of.

I know that if you turn the phone off and on again then all messages waiting will automatically download onto your phone.

There is also a setting in the MMS settings called Auto Download. Has that been selected? If that doesn't work then I would give it a bit more time then take it back to the shop.

Have you tried having the settings sent from se.com?

Yep thats actually activated too,
it's on recieve anonymous and news or whatever it is aswell.

bit strange this..

there was some problem with the K700i some years ago like that which actually made 02 recall all the handsets back...

my ex- K750i recieved MMS no sweat,
since ive had the K800i in the spur's of 3 weeks now ive not recieved any media message at all.

i'll try se-sense tho willing to give anything a shot in the meantime

@miss_uk - Mine's O2 UK and I just tried sending an mms to me which
worked fine.

Can you list your MMS/Internet profile settings ? I'll compare to mine
and see what's what !

BTW - never used O2's OTA settings - I've always used SE's own.

Check all your settings Kerry as the ones from 02's site hardly ever work.

I'm on 02 contract and the settings I have are:

(Go to settings/connectivity/data communication/data accounts/02 WAP GPRS)

APN: wap.02.co.uk
Username: 02wap
Password: password
Logon Request: off
Allow Calls: Automatic
IP Address: Blank (just shows ...)
DNS Address: Blank (Just shows ...)
Authentication: PAP (Make sure none of the others are ticked)
Data Compression: off
Header Compr: off

Then go back to the Data Communication Menu. Select Preferred Service. Make sure that PS and CS is selected.

Go back to Data Communication Menu. Select SMS Access. Make sure that Circuit Switched is selected.

Go back to the Connectivity Menu. Select Internet Settings/Internet Profiles

Highlight 02 WAP GPRS and press More and select Settings.

Check that:

Connect Using: 02 WAP GPRS
Use Proxy: Yes
Proxy Address: 193.113.200.195
Port Number: 8080

Leave Username and Password blank

Select Save.

Then go to the menu screen. Select Messaging/Settings/Picture Message.

Check Settings are:

Validity Period: Network maximum
Read Report: Up to you if you want it on or off
Delivery Report: As above
Signature: Again up to you
Creation Mode: Alert
Picture Scaling: Up to you. I have it on Off
Auto Download: Always (again up to you)
Accept Messages: Up to you
MMS Profile: See below

Select EDIT on the MMS profile option.

If theres no profile saved then select the New Profile option.
If there is a profile already saved. Highlight it and select More/Edit

The settings should be:

MMS profile name: 02 MMS
Message Server: http://mmsc.mms.02.co.uk:8002
Internet Profile: 02 WAP GPRS

Select Save

Those are all the settings you will need to send and recieve MMS messages.

Also. Check your Firmware and update it to R1GB via SEUS on your computer (Can't use OTA update on 02). There's a new feature on the phone that automatically downloads and installs settings for GPRS,GSM and MMS. (R1D also has this option)

After the update. Go to Settings/General/Setup Wizard/Settings Download and follow the onscreen prompts.

it re-downloaded the following onto myphone R1ED001

I sent the settings from 02 site again and followed everything you typed above Andy, now GPRS doesn't work...

really beginning to loose my tether now

02 responded again to my message now there telling me myphone is definatley faulty and to take it back to the shop
