A Judge in Montana U.S is fed up with mobile phones ringing in his courtroom and has done something about it.

"Judge Jeffrey Sherlock, of the Lewis and Clark County Courthouse in Helena, Montana., has announced that he will immediately issue a $5 fine to anyone whose mobile goes off during one of his trials.

During a recent trial, the judge collected US$25 from perpetrators.

Good, about time. It's not difficult putting your phone on silent. $5 is a bit cheap though only £2.50, he should put the fine up to $15.

Agree - and yeah, should be at least $50 (lawyers, to name just 1 breed, can be so rude, and $5 is nuddin' for them) per pop (discount for good ringtone, I suppose? I fought the law, and the law.../ I shot the sheriff.../ that'd be $100 + life?!
