> Whats going wrong with Orange?

Dont know if anyone has said anything before but whats happening to good old Orange? I used to have a contract with them back in the early days when they were the best. But i keep reading on other sites about how customer service is very bad also they are always waiting on the phone for nearly an hour. People have complianed of constantly being cut off or not getting through and also when they send messages they dont arrive until the next day and some people have moaned about they have been left voicemails but their phones have not alerted them. I find it shocking to what was once such a great network that won awards had the most advanced technology and great reliability and customer service. Anyone else had these problems. My sister in law and elder brother is with them but they are fine with them.

Hi
loads of people have unfortunatly suffered at what was once the best network, as to what happened Hans Snook left and they have been sold a couple of times since and it's all been down hill ever since. I would not have an Orange phone gain if i was actually getting paid to use it.

Well I have been with Orange for 8 years and as from Saturday Im so pi**ed of with them there attitude, customer crap, phones that i requested my pac code 4 months early and im leaving them.
But you think its me complaining
Well Jan 2006 Orange had a total of 16.8 Mil customers.
Jan 2007 Orange now has 14.9 Mil Customers.
However bear in mind that they gained 1 min customer. So in year 2006 Orange lost 2.9 mil customers. Thats the most in any network history. Orange also was ranked in Mobile phone customer care as on of the worst network of 2006. (I beleive the figures out to be of 10)
O2 came top with 7.4
Virgin 6.7
Vodafone 6.3
Tesco Mobile 5.3
Orange 5.3
T-Mobile 5.1
3G 4.8
Industry Standard is 5.8
And Orange still dont listen
In a Survey in Dec 2007
Orange is now the dearest network in genral for taking your mobile phone abroad and dont let them kid you about these bundlesyou can buy, There worthless and how can i approve it
Easy
If you make a call in Ireland on PAYG (Normal Rates) it costs 40p per min.
If you buy there Travel Talk 25
25 minutes to make and receive calls
£15 – bundle lasts 30 days
£15 divide 25 mins = 60p per min.
So your average cost per call goes up by 20p per min.
The futures doesnt look bright any more sorry to say and loosing that ammount of customers in 1 year hasnt sent alarm bells then nothing will

Yes its a shame as they were once the most innovative and refreshingly different network in the early days. I am suprised T Mobile did not do better as i think their customer services are superb. Orange brag about how great they are but thats all well and good if the service aint there. I wonder why texts take so long to go through and why i read so many people are not recieving their voicemail alerts. Maybe their network is not as advanced or better at coping with busy times as they think. Do they know of these problems. I hope someone takes over in the future and kicks things back into shape as i would go back to them again if things improved. I actually think as regards to call quality and clarity Orange are still the best in that respect.

i cant fault with call clarity on orange or the network.
But its alright having a good network but when you dont get back up after then its pointless.
Yes orange know about there problems, they have known all year. There response is, We are working out our problems and a ongoing training programme is happening.
However when i have spoke to a fair few people, most of them now have 02 phones as they get better value. The person i spoke in retention even told me that he doesnt have a orange phone due to the branding (He hates it big time)
so staff dont like the phones (Branding) and network due to problems.
so what hope customer have is i dont know.
Regarding SMS, yes i have been having a few problems in the last couple of days, however only when im on the 3g network. So ive turned it of.
I cantsay i have never had a missed voice mail alert so im ok in that respect, but when i have a problem im sick of hangin on the phone for a hour or so.
I phone 02 customer care today, i got through in 35 seconds. answered all my questions, helpful, couldnt do enough for me, what a refreshing change.
Yes i have read about t-mobile customer care and was suprised to see it this low. However the figures were produced in the middle of the year, so we will have to wait and see how they score in 2007.
i can see Orange getting a 4, if they dont do something sharp.
Oh and 3 more of my friends cancelled there Orange contracts today and theres more to come.
Im sick or moaning and complaining to customer care so its now consumer power and word of mouth.

Regarding Orange Answerphone problems i do know someone actually who had a W810i on contract and on a few occasions she had really important voicemails left from her work and she did not realise she had them until work the following day when they said they left her voice mail. She then checked and they were there but her the network never alerted her. I think its poor that they are going to charge for delivery reports do customers not pay enough. I read also some woman called Orange and when she put the phone down she heard the call centre staff member say GOD I AM SO SICK OF BEING POLITE. Oh dear so much for service with a smile. As for T Mobile i get through straight away every time and even if there is a wait its a few mins. Also where i live and work and go out T Mobiles 3G coverage is solid i an pleasently suprised. Customer services are also friendly polite helpful and they call you back when they say they will. And i never get network problems.
