Hi Folks
First post so please go easy!
I have spent all weekend searching for an answer to this but nothing matches this particular issue.

My problem is getting WAP on my Orange SIM card (not GPRS enabled) working on an O2 K800i.

The phone works fine but I cannot get the internet connection to connect to Orange Wap. Keeps coming up 'connection failure'.
I have tried the text download settings from orange web site.
I have tried to manually input the settings from info found on various web sites, including this one.
I have deleted all other (O2) connection settings.
The Orange SIM card I have is not GPRS enabled, but it works fine in my old K750i and T610
(the K750i is also an O2 phone)
I'm Confused why it works in a K750i and not a K800i??
Could it be that a K800i cant accept the old GSM/CSD WAP format??

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Louis, but this is the same as the orange site, it only sends GPRS settings. (unless I'm being dim!)

SE helpline tell me to contact the service provider, Orange....but they are not interested as it is an O2 phone.

Does anyone have a K800i working on Orange GSM???

@panda - try this ...

http://www.filesaveas.com/wap.html

about 2/3's of the way down is a table of what you'll need to enter
manually. SE's setup page doesn't cover CSD.
Remember when entering the new data account to make it CS !

Just to make you aware.
Orange no longer support GSM Wap.

The function will only work in old phones.
However in the next 6 months Orange will switch the GSM feature of all together

You need to contact orange and they will switch your gprs settings on.

Also if you ask them, they will let you have the first 4mb of wap for free too if you are on PAYG

Hope this helps

not completely true

I just setup a CS data account on my k800 and dialled into Orange's
WAP home page .... how long that will last is another matter !

You certainly wouldn't want to browse esato at 28kbps

Darren/Glorf

Appreciate the help.......for a moment I thought it was connecting ...but no such luck yet!!!

My options/settings as follows:-
(in the order they come on the k800i)

Data Accounts...........orangewap
(selecting the above goes into the CS Data info below)
phone number..........+447973100500
username..................Orange
Password..................Multimedia
Login Request...........Off (have tried it On)
Data Rate.................9.6kbits/s
dial type....................ISDN
DNS address.............192.168.71.35

Internet Settings/Internet Profiles
Orange Gsm
Connect using.........orangewap (above Data account)
Use proxy................No

If i try with Use proxy...Yes....then
proxy address..........http://orange.multimedia
Port number..........8080
username..............Orange
Password..............Multimedia

It now seems to want to phone the number and shows a browser, but disconnects after about 30 seconds

I seem to have used all options available, which doesnt make sense as the SIM still works for WAP if i put it back in my T610????

Any ideas much appreciated.
