Over half (53%) of Brits feel that modern technology has now become too complicated and could turn their back on technology, according to the latest report from PayPal.
ESATO NEWS
Whilst Brits are in some cases using some of the new technological advances, many still have no more than a basic understanding of them.
Mobile phones are now ubiquitous, yet many remain baffled by their features. The majority, almost two thirds (61%), use only four features on their mobile phone calls, text messages, alarm clock and camera ,while two fifths don't even know if their mobile phone has a camera function.
Neil Edwards, PayPal's technology expert comments: "It's a worrying sign for Britain that so many of us are baffled and therefore turned off by technology. There's no hiding from technology so burying your head in the sand won't make it go away. We all must embrace technology or risk becoming the tech illiterates of the world."

It often amazes me how often people have top of the line mobiles and only use it for comparatively simple things like calling, texting, the alarm clock and very occasionally a picture (but have no idea on how to get it off the phone!).
I've got a 3330 and a 3410 here, I'll swap these people their K800is which they don't use to their full potential for one of the above phones where they would!

Two fifths don't know if their phone has a camera function!!
Does that mean that they don't read the ops.instructions?
No wonder they only use 4 features!

Corresponds nicely with 2 thirds just using four of their lives' functions: sleep, eat, work'n'sh*t...

It's the same here in the Netherlands. Phones on a contract are also free here, or very cheap, so people choose the most expensive phone, they can get on their new contract and when they have this advanced phone, they only use a few functions.

The same happen in Argentina, I have uncles and friends who buy the newest phones just for they are 'nice', and they don't know how to use the camera (one of them think the irda are for nigth vision)

It would be easier for me to list the functions I DONT use
Its true though you can't blame people for wanting the most expensive phone they can acquire from their operator as to some it is more of a fashion statement too.
