From local news: They planned to ship 10m cheap phones produces in India! Most of them is costumize to India market. SE specialised in premium mobile before and they planned to be number 3 phone maker in the world with this moves.
Well, they have J series (cheapest one is about US$60 in my country). Can they go even cheaper than that?

The difference is

mobiles will have colour screens so they will be better than the mono-screened offerings from Moto and Noko.

cheap means less features. or cheap for that region.
its good the see SE trying to increase their production.
but 10m by the end of 2009 isn't enough. to gain 3th place in global sales.

The cheapest J series, J100, is already available for US $50 in India. But it still has poor sales as there are even more cheaper phone available. By having even more reduced price and the right marketing, SE can have huge increase in sales in India. And 10 million units, initially, made in India is a very impressive no. indeed.
