Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Online Support.
Your message has reached our Contact Center and we would like to apologize for any delays in responding to your message.
Unfortunetaly this is not something that can be sent to you it would have to be done at our repair center. If you need any other information in regards to sending the phone in for the upgrade you may call us at 1800 374-2776. What is the reason you want to get the upgrade if there is no specific reason we do not recommend it.

If you bother to read any threads on upgrading SW, even the latest R5D007, you will see how temperamental it can be for different phones. Some people are perfectly happy with it, while others are finding bugs in their phones that weren't there in the first place.

are only saying, if your phone has a major problem, then yes we'll upgrade the SW (which may work, or not). If your phone is working perfectly, why tamper with it.
It makes perfect sense to me!

But if SW has released an improvable version, why don't we go to try it? I think improvable version shoud be better than the old one, if the new one is worse that SW should closed the door.

well, perhaps.. improve to those who encounter problem. but to those who has no problem with the phone, then why bother to upgrade.
I guess it is fair....
IF you think there is no problem , then dun upgrade. If there is problem..go ahead.

Yes, i also agree you say...but new version maybe has better recepted and other things. Did you have "hangs" exp. or connected without sound? These are general problem.

general consensus is the email reply was fine, if you have a specific problem as outlined in the reply, then do as the reply says...otherwise your just making things complicated.
food for thought: imagine 2 million customers just like you enquiring about an upgrade...i would hate to be SE.

I'm perfectly happy with my version. But I'm always curious what the new upgrade will improve. New is not always good but curiousity is strong.
