flashing firmware does not go "on top" of previous firmware, it completely replaces it and so it doesn't matter what is on there before

I'm still scared of Wotan! Really can't make my mind up whether to take the risk of changing the firmware. I'm also using a branded o2

wotaning your phone will get rid of what little branding O2 do
to them (my bond k800i had very little indeed! )

It's painless and takes about 10 mins. I've done my w810i 5 times and
the k800i 4 times so far without any grief.

A mate at work did his w850i (Orange UK) on my recommendation as
was over the moon at losing the Orange rubbish

I just did my first flashing (V800 > Z800) and used DaVinci Team's client. Went like clockwork, and their support is the best! Now I don't have to look at that awful Vodafone Live stuff anymore. Ahhhhh!

I was also worried about flashing my k800i using wotanserver, but it is very straight forward, even with the most limited of fone or software knowledge (like myself!).

I did it to my brand new fone on the day of recieveing it, and couldnt be more happy with getting rid of the Orange branding on it!! I'm sure you have found mostly praise and confidence with regard to wotanserver from those who have already used it! If I was an O2 user I probably wouldn't have taken the risk as branding is minimal, but since doing it I wouldnt have a problem using it again!

People on this forum are very happy to help you with problems, as I have found this week!
