Hi all, just wondering why it takes so long for unbranded firmwares to get up to date with branded firmwares, i know there is se unlock but if i was to wait for the latest w950i frimware what would be the normal waiting time? ie how long will i be waiting for the official update on seus?
Im on r9c001 and im very jealous!!

it's the other way round. Unbranded fw comes out all the time, so there are regular updates for debranded/generic handets, but there are no updates for branded fw at the moment.
Branded fw get updated once in a blue moon.

I didnt think my w950i Sim free/unbranded which i purchased had the latest firmware as i dont have the speaker whilst dialing function etc, R9c001 and when i do the seus update it says i have latest firmware, am i doing something wrong?

Please post the CDA of the FW that you have so I can see it.
Also please not that SEUS has been having issues with W950's recently as many users have been experienceing issues.
However please as I say either post or PM the system info of your handset.

Unfortunately as has been discussed, /29 is NOT an unbranded FW it is in fact a branded O2 FW so that explains why you cannot update via SEUS.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But Carphone etc. market these as sim free unlocked handsets, which when you are in store they claim are unbranded, however they are not.
There is still branded FW on them, which doesn't allow for generic updates via SEUS. You will require a FW with CDA /1 or /2 etc to get regular updates.

Yours is not branded /1 and /2 are Generic World versions of the FW. Your FW is very old though lol.
