What are unlock/restriction codes? What are the use of these codes and what can we do in the phone?

Unlock codes are simply codes that unlock certain phones to all networks rather than just the one service provider that you may have got the phone from, usually Nokia phones are unlocked via this method. This is apart from the latest BB5 Nokias like the N70, N93 et al., so far only the service providers and I think one or two other people (like Dejan apparently) have the ability to unlock these.
