Used Palm TX paired with K750i on O2 for mobile internet and IMAP mail, works great, so upgraded to k610i for faster data rate on 3G - the k610i can access O2 GPRS itself but fails to connect when driven to do so by the Palm. Also the IMAP mail in the k610i with menu-driven setup doesn't find my work imap server - is there a significant difference between the 750 and 610 that I can overcome with a script or other setting? Otherwise it's back to the 750 which was great and keep an expensive paperweight.

i have a TX too and use my K800 to connect to the net without any problems. although i don't use the built-in phone setup app, i would think it should also work without any problem. what setting did you use? doesn't the K700 setting work?
i use an app called Mobile High Speed. not only does it simplify the whole process, but it's terrific for roaming too. i use the setting for the W900 on my K800 and it works like a dream.
if you want to check it out, you can take a look at

good luck!

Thanks for the steer - I got MoHiSp and installed, set up a connection to the phone and network settings, activate says the settings are written, but connect gives a dialogue box telling me wifi is switched off (because I want to use the bluetooth and GPRS) and would I like to switch it on? Then it connects through my wireless router and gives me an IP address. All very good but I could do that anyway, am I missing something in setting up MoHiSp to look for the phone first?

A little more mucking about and it is sorted - many thanks. The bluetooth setting on the palm (from the bottom menu) needs to be specifically pointed at the network service (O2 GPRS) otherwise it defaults to no service and is ignored.
Only remaining question is when I don't have the palm and want to get IMAP mail on the phone it still fails to find the server, anything to do with resolving the dns? The server address I'm using is imap.xxxxxx.co.uk as supplied by my network administrator, but this doesn't seem to connect. Any other thoughts most welcome.

once the settings have been written, the way i connect is i click on the bluetooth icon at the bottom of the screen to switch on BT, then at the bottom of the dialog box you should be able to select the connection you want to use to go online. i select the one written by MoHiSpeed and click connect and that's pretty much it.
does yours look different?

Thanks senninha, your way is exactly how it went for me too. Now to go to the dark side somewhere between SE and O2 and their data support team.....I pinged the imap server, got an ip address but that doesn't work either - it may be something in the way the phone connects to the internet from the email menu, which is not making a live network connection. Keeping on trying. Thanks again.
