Hi, I just updated the phone using the update service. It has totally messed up my phone. The baclight was dim and the keys didn't light up. I turned off the phone and now it wont turn back on.
I am absolutley disgusted with SE for this. Anyone got any suggestions. Is it possible to reset the phone without turning it on, thanks in advance..

cheers guys i've tried that but still no luck. All that happens when i try and turn it on is the red battery low ligth flashes, but the battery isn't empty. I think its totally died thanks to the update. A warning to others - if it aint broke, dont fix it

Well, try this, take the batt out, wait for few minutes then short the batt contact/connector on the PHONE BODY (NOT the batt). Then put batt back and try to turn it on, reflash again if necessary!
This link is the reference for above technique (drhunter):

I have phoned SE and they say I must send it away to some place thtat is contracted to SE. Just wondered if this Kulan thing is just the kind of thing they use as if it is, I might as well do it myself

Probably, your EROM has died.
But since you flashed to the latest FW, you also have EROM CID51 now, which, afaik, there is (currently) nothing you can do to flash it yourself...
