So my rant is this yesterday Orange blocked my outgoing calls. This is just 38 days after the last paid bill.

Now all this may seem out of context but bear with me. Some two years ago my favourite local operator (IDEA Telecom) was bought out by orange. This deal, the first rebranding deal in Poland, was coated with sweet promises of cheaper calls, phones, subscription charges and so on. Last year my contract was renewed and I had to sign a new one with whats now Orange Poland.

The sales people sugar coated me with flexibility of tarrifs and wooed me with free nights and weekends (something that was not available prior to Orange entering the market). So gullable as I was, I went for it. My monthly subscription went up from 35euros too 60 in a flash. All this still bearable as they threw in a samsung e360 to the deal.

Since day one, problems began. First off the sim that i got was inactive for 10 days because Orange was unable to activate the sim for recieving and dialing calls. The simcard was changed all seemed sweet, till i tried to send a message with my new number. Sadly i was unable to send messages for two weeks because the network was restructuring. After the initial month all seemed to work perfectly till the summer. The summertime came and I packed my phone and wanted to go abroad and hence Roaming. I call up my customer support and ask for roaming to be switched on. To my great surprise they tell me sir you are going to have to leave a deposit of a 100 euros. Never once did the previous operator ask for deposits.

Now this is the treatment that I get from Orange. Still worse off when I called to enquire about my customer ranking, I was told I am in the highest bracket and thus will recieve benefits.... Yeah thanks Orange two tickets to a soccer match and a package of 150sms messages every three months!!

So my question is directed to all the people who recently lived where the big firms i.e. Orange, Vodafone, Bt have taken over. Have you seen a positive turn of events or did things go down the drain?
