is it possible to install that app on a symbian fone and talk to other gmail users? got free wlan here, so that would be perfect for my needs

Well google talk app is for pcs. u cant install it on a symbian phone. there are other applications that can help you login to google talk. one is agile 9this is good) and the other is IM plus voice.

I have seen google talk option in IM+ for UIQ 3.0 had problems with registration so cant tell you how it works.
