Hi

I have just updated the firmware on the p990i to the latest version. After i did this, i am now unable to access both internet and email together. I can get the settings for wap, and for internet(which allows me access to vodafone email) and they both work fine on there own but i cant access both wap and email with the same internet settings.

Anyone else had the same problems?

I phoned vodafone but they were useless!

Any help would be much appreciated.

for me, it's not possible to wap and web with the same account.

I have a wap account i use for voda live browsing and then an internet profile for real internet access (ie web, mail, rss etc)

Voda have different APNs for Wap and Internet. If you have a Voda branded handset you will find these four data accounts under internet accounts (accounts tab)

1. Contract Wap
2. Pay as you go Wap
3. Contract Internet
4. Pay as you go Internet.

If you have an unbranded handset you can get Voda to send you these data accounts, otherwise you can probably get them sent from the SE or Voda websites.

Under 'internet accounts' settings there is also a group tab that selects the order to choose your data accounts. Ensure there are two groups accounts (create two if need be), one with the Wap account, the other with the Internet account (either contract or pay as you go accounts as applicable). Select the preferred group as Wap for your Voda live browsing and set the preferred group to Internet for your e-mail. Hopefully this should work, but it does mean changing preferred group according to what you are doing.

Finally check to see if you can edit your Voda mail settings. If you are able to do so, under 'inbox' and 'outbox' you should find settings for ' receive using preferred group' and 'send using preferred group'. Set these both to your Internet group, and set your preferred group to Wap. Now you should be able to both browse Voda live and get your e-mail without changing groups.

I've the same problem and so do all P990 users I think. That's one of the biggest negative point of the P990. I've never had that problem with the P910.

If you find the trick please let me know.
