> P990 - Can't go on internet anymore
Bookmark topic
Hi guys,
I really need your help.
I've been surfing the internet with my P990 this morning and suddenly the phone blocked. I had to keep my finger on the switch off button for a while to reboot the phone.
Now when I click on the web icon on the phone to make a connection, the whole phone blocks. I've even tried to connect via Opera mini and there I get a message saying it's impossible to connect. Opera mini says I've to go to Tools, then settings and make a connexion test. I went to Tools but can't find that part for a connexion test.
Don't know how to fix this problem and I really need your help.
I've tried to download my emails to see if the problem could come from my settings but I'm able to download all my emails without problem. Just browsing the internet has became impossible.
Another thing : Swiss Manager shows 13 MB (21%) of free RAM space only while no application runs (right after the reboot of the phone). Don't know what's running in the back and takes all the RAM capacity.
Do you know I can see that ?
Could it be that some kind of virus has taken control of web softwares ?
I can do whatever I want with the phone except touch the web icon nor button on the device or it blocks the phone.
Can anybody help please ?

Hi,
First of all resend the settings from your operator(ask them to do so).
About opera and connection test:install the latest one ver 3.0.and about the test go to settings and roll down till you find the connection test linkand about the RAM and 13MB of free ram it is the whole story!!most problems are from the lack of ram and you got 20% cuz there are background apps running.and if you upgrade to R4A (latest firmware for p990)you got 16.5mb and sometimes 17.6mb of free RAM

If you have an unlocked phone then the latest fw is R9A

I fixed the problem... I went to the SE shop here in Brussels and the guy told me that a fw upgrade would be enough. so I did it and now everything is back to normal. Except that when I bought the phone it has a R4 firmware and I used to have around 22 or 23 MB free RAM space after switching on the phone.
Now after the upgrade I have a R7 fw but not more than 12 MB free RAM space. This is something I find very strange.
Do you know have any idea what could be the problem ?
I must say that since this upgrade my internet is remarquably faster.
Thanks,

Yes I did, right after switching on the phone. It was going down while using opening some apps... but never below 10MB.
