got myself the se v630i with 2 megapixel camera. but the picture is a lot worse than my old sharp 550sh which only had a 1.3 megapixel camera. 3gp videos are also crap and cannot display dark colours for some reason. have a 2 megapixel picture i took with the v630 today. is my camera faulty or is the phone just crap for pictures etc. the other aspects of the phone are great but very disapointed with the camera.

The recent new 2mp phones seem to be a step down from the k750i/w800i/d750i/w810i surprisingly in terms of videos and photos although the handset you have is aimed to be in the base to mid table handsets range. The k700i/s700i/v800 series has slighty better quality but they were top of the range handsets.

yeh cameras pretty crap on it, you can use photodj to autocorrect or adjust light settings urself. i find that microsot office picture manager duz a good job at balancing out the photos.

w850 camera is not that good because AF is missing imo. although it takes sharp pictures. but stay on topic. V630 camera

That is a pretty tough situation for the camera to cope with, a mostly indoor environment with significant light entering from the window.

I noticed that the Outdoor portion of the photo is pretty good where as the indoor portion sux bigtime, mostly because the camera is trying to take an outdoor photo IMO.

Whether the camera quality is worse or not I don't know but more care in composing your shots will yeild better results.
