> My first major problem with M600
Bookmark topic
the email client has got its knickers in a twice and now crashes every time I try to read a message.
I've deleted the email accounts (5 of them!) and recreated one but still the same issue.
Application: Messaging
Reason code: KERN-EXEC
REASON NUMBER: 3
yeah, good 'ol KERN-EXEC 3
I'm guessing the internal database has corrupted and nothing I do seems to fix it so guess I have to resort to master reset
Thats the first real let down though since getting it when they came out so I can't complain too much but I wish SE put a "reset internal database" option in the service menu or somewhere to fix this without a full reset!

Tell me that you had all the emails backed up.....

Have you tried accessing that email account with a separate client (ie, on your PC) and reading/deleting the mail in question from there? I had this happen once with the M600, and similar problems in the past with the P910 and P800 before it, and clearing the email account externally always cured things without any full reset needed of the phone.

the phone always leaves a copy on the server so I don't think its possible to lose actual emails received though I guess I have lost a couple I have sent this morning.
anyway, I've now swapped over to my backup phone, a w950, so all is well for me but its just annoying to have to setup the M600 again so soon after the recent firmware update when I also had to do it
@Boinng, yeah that was my first thought but the W950 happily read all current emails without issue

Ah yes, but did the W950 actually clear the mailbox, or just download copies and leave everything still on the server? The troublesome messages really need to be removed before you try and sync with the M600 again, at which point it should straighten itself out without any other reset.
This is obviously a bug, and an annoying one, but it's been there all through UIQ messaging as far as I know - it's an occasional thing, but shouldn't be happening at all.
A new bug I've noticed with my M600 is the new mail icon, sometimes - it's got an annoying habit of sticking around and telling me I've still got an unread email, when I haven't. Obviously some internal file pointer that isn't always getting reset when it should. This may be an old bug mind - I'm still on the old Vodafone software.

I've reset my M600 now and created exactly the same email accounts and redownloaded exactly the same messages that were there before and its all working fine
so I don't think its a specific message as such, I think its just an accumulated bug over time that finally gave in.
I get and send ALOT of emails every day and I can't say I have see the bug you mention about the icon hanging around. If I click that it tells me where the new message is and lets me go there to read it. Once read the icon clears.
anyway, for me all sorted now

yahoo only has pop access for their
plus service and msn also only has pop access for their premium service both which I believe costs
so, you're only option is to google for services that access those two that you want and provide indirect pop access through their own service
