Hello everyone,

I've been a regular user of esato for quite a long time and though i've never posted a single time before (thanks to forum being so helpful in solving all of my previous problems) i've been kind of itching to ask this ever since i got my m600i a week back. So my question is: Is it really possible to have an animation image (.gif) used as the main background for the Standby Screen (like in the K700i for instance?) The official specifications for the M600i on the Sony Ericsson clearly say that the M600i supports it. But i've tried my best and have still been unable to do so.. can someone help me out on this one?? oh, and i'd like to thank everyone here for all the posts that i've used in the past to solve my SE probelms... cheers

No, unfortunately. The M600i's standby screen must have a static image.

You can have an animated screen saver though

then why does the sony ericsson website list it as one of the features of the phone?

Probably because I see the standby screen being the same as a screen saver as opposed to wallpaper!

this is something I haven't solved either

the m600 specs say

Wallpaper animation
Animated wallpaper – moving background pictures. In standby, your display wallpaper has a pleasing graphic pattern with smooth movement and colour blending

but none of my animated wallpapers, nor the buit in Sony Ericsson one actually animate as a "wallpaper"

if you apply them as a "screen saver" then sure, they animate, but only after some inactivity and not for long before the screen blanks

if they mean animated screensaver then they really should say that as we all know the difference between screen saver and wallpaper, of course

so is there a chance that a future firmware version of the m600 may support this?
