Wotan Server Client is now version 0.9.981. And the big news is that Wotan is now able to upgrade old EROM R3A011 to R3A016 although your EROM is CID 51. Just upgraded my old EROM to the R3A016 just now. It just took 11 seconds..what a fast service. Alhamdullillah, I'm free from WSOD threat at last. Come on, guys..upgrade yours now!

Yes, according to expert, newer EROM R3A016 fixes bugs of White Screen of Death and Can't Power On. All phones with these bugs are fixed in SESC in two steps. Pre-configuration or EROM upgrade and then the f/w flash itself. However, when my EROM was R3A011, to my surprise, I never experienced bad events due to buggy EROM. I think, it only happens to few phones in random. My mate's K800i was one of the victims. Then, I began thinking that such an upgrade is essential. So, you'd better upgrade to prevent bad days..

dovern: In my experience of K800's, I never had a WSOD but I could see the software was 'buggy' often it would just hang or keys and menus would stop responding.
I had to power off and battery out to get it running again.
Now - it's as sweet as a sugary thing on a very sunny day

i have w550i, can i upgrade my EROM from sony ericsson rather than on wotan server since i am still in warranty period. also will i lose my data on my phone after upgrading it.

In my experience, SEUS will not update your EROM but will update your CID and firmware.

Kulan kendi newest client also can update/rewrite EROM CID51. You can try using kulan/kulan as login/password just for updating EROM version only (from EROM R3A011 to R3A016 NOT from EROM CID49 to CID51).
It (login and password) used to be working and you don't have to buy any credit to update EROM version. Not sure if they still have same policy now.
