I'm new to GSM/GPRS. I just got my phone activated today (Sony Ericcson T68i) and I'm starting to explore the internet capabilities. I have a few questions...

-Is any internet site viewable via mobile internet, and if not what are the requirements of a site?

-How do I go about downloading screen savers, backrounds, themes, ringtones, ect?

Also, I am an AT&T Wireless employee and just got home from a large meeting in which I got a change to talk to the like number 3 guy in the company. He gave a very exciting speech about ATT WS and the wireless industry in general, talking a lot about GSM/GPRS and the next technology (I forget the acronym). There are a lot of great times ahead in this industry.

T68i cannot view html or real web pages - got to www.esato.com via wap & goto the relevent option - ur SP may not support large downloads - but there is a test page for file sizes - there are loads of background pics & screensavers via esato

If you want to view HTML webpages over GPRS, you will still need webserver access via your APN (which may only be setup for WAP and MMS).

Check with your GPRS provider, it's never that simple!

Ok... I've tried going to this site (www.esato.com) and all I get is a bunch of square symbols and a link for "webmaster@ladom.co.kr"... nothing else. What am I doing wrong?

Most ringtones like those on esato can be easily downloaded by wap. I haven't got a cable - I use wap all the time and use gprs for bigger wap downloades like animated screensavers.

So I guess I'm just not familiar with WAP. What is this and do I need to do anything to set it up on my phone? I havn't set anything up yet and my instruction manual says something about me needing to request a text message from sonyericcson.com or something to get my settings... what is up and what do i need to do?

here are a few web sites you can enter when you get to the menu screen key in 6 and then key in 4 to enter addresses:
wap.com
Wap.google.com
www.woaop.com
www.yahoo.com

Good luck!
