Wondering if someone with a bit more knowledge could answer this one.

Can a sim free Sony Ericsson K800i use Windows Live messenger? This phone is sim free and is on the O2 UK network.

It's just I've heard only network locked handsets can use it would this be true?

I've got Windows Live messenger for the K800i, the version which says its for the K800i although I dont seem to be able to connect to Windows Live Messenger.

K800i is sim free and the network is O2.

Any other users on O2 able to connect or would anyone know of a reason why you dont seem to be able to connect?

untick use proxy in the windows live app, although id recommend you go download mig33:). you dont need to give them ur fone number if u dont want to i guess, just give them a fake 1 but there is no harm in doing so. its much faster than the windows mobile app imo
