The story started two weeks ago (26th Jan) My son lost his w810 so I phoned up vodafone to block the sim and they suggessted that I find the box it came in, let them know the IMEI number and they could block the phone. They also said that they would send out a replacement sim for the lost one.

So I phoned back later on my phone and got through to the same call center (somewhere in Ireland) the person I spoke to said that it wouldnt be a problem and put me on hold. She then proceeded to cut of the phone I was using my p990.

As I had been cut off I obvously couldn't call back, so got my ex to phone them and eventualy they said it was back on and she texted me to say all was ok.

It was on Monday that I realised that I couldn't make calls, tho I could text and get the internet. So whilst at work I phoned them on my colleagues phone and we tried allsorts, swapping sims around, disconecting from voda and reconecting again. I was told at the end that it would be working in 48 hours. At the same time I ordered my sons replacement phone.

The next day my sons phone turned up, so when I phoned up to activate the new sim that came with the phone, I asked how mine was doing, so he looked into my file and said that it had been blacklisted and it would be another 48 hours.

Two days later out of the blue a new sim card turned up, which I figured was the one I was promised when I initally phoned up to block the lost one. Just to make sure I phoned them up and was told to throw it away. So I then asked about my phone and was told that they had inputted the wrong IMEI number and it would be another 48 hours.

this Wednesday I tried again and got through to Malcom and he said that he would definatley sort it. He was off on Thursday but Friday it would be working.

It wasn't

So I phoned again Friday evening (last night) on my sons new phone and the guy said he would sort it out while I was on the phone. He put me on hold and promptly turned of my sons sim card.

So I phoned again this time on my landline (praying that they couldn't cut this one of). I got through to Maureen and she filled me with confidence she said the phone was of off the blacklist and it was a sim fault (although I did say that I had taken the sim out and used it in another phone the previous week with out problem). I told her about the sim they had sent and that I was told to throw away, which she couldn't couldn't believe.

Any way I hadn't thrown it away andi t was still in it's credit card size holder, so I put it in and she said turn both phones of for an hour and they should both be working.

Well my sons phone was but mine wasn't. So has anyone out there any ideas for when I phone them on Monday.

To reiterate
my sims work in other phones
other sims that work don't work on my phone
It is no longer blacklisted
I have done a master reset
I have always been able tosend and recieve texts and internet
Cannot make or recieve calls

Update

Just over 2 weeks after I was cut off, I phoned again and was told that every one that I had previously talked to was wrong and it would take 4 weeks to get it unlisted. So today 4 weeks and 3 days after they cut it of by mistake I phoned again and I got a new response.

for the first time I was told it will be working in 72 hours, not the usual 24 0r 48 hours that they used to tell me.

The agent that told me that it would take upto 4 weeks from disconection gave me one months credit on line rental and thought she was compensating me. personaly i dont call not charging me for somthing that I cant use anyway compensation but thats another issue.

Anyway I would like advice on what I can do. My prefered option if after another 72 hours I still cant make calls, is to terminate the contract ( i'm 5 months into an 18 month contract) and send the phone back, but not sure if I can do that legaly. any thoughts or ideas gratefully recieved

i would be demanding a replacement handset if they had blacklisted it - sounds like it's time to get snotty..

if you can spare the time to go to a voda retail shop, id try it in another p990 then phone customer services from there..

good luck...

I would check if they managed to look the phone and not the SIM. There is a theft look based on the IMEI number in your p990 indipendant from what operator you use that could be looked. Call Sony Ericsson or go to a Support center were they can see if the phone is looked.

Good luck, mate.

It is definatley the phone that is the problem. I can take out the sim and it works fine in other phones. But no sims will work on mine fully.

With my sim I can still text and get the internet, just can't send and recieve calls.

The really frustrating thing is they all say it will be working in either 12, 24,48,72 hours ( they can't even be consitant)or even 4 weeks. and you just know that they all go off and do the same thing as the previous one did and then tell me it will be definatley working.

and because they believe the crap thats on their computer screen they wont do anything else except say "thankyou for phoning vodafone, goodbye" as quickly as they can before cutting you off.
