is there any kind of app that can show a today screen like the one in M600i & W950i?

Not right now, as far as I know. P990 has (almost) that functionality under the leftmost icon on the standby screen (with flip open, rightmost when flip is closed).

AquaCalendar 5.0 is pretty good.
Agendus is even better IMHO, but not available for UIQ3 yet.

It would be great for any company to release a "Today plug-in" for P990. I had the today screen in my "old" M600 and I used it a lot.

there was a tool for p910
believe it was called 'tracker' or 'tracktor'
the programma completly transformed the gui of the phone (like osx/windows/ whatever you want)
by default it's with a complex today screen

The main issue with the P990i, and for that matter with the UIQ3, is that the OS restricts now access to system functions.
Basically, in the UIQ2.1 world, this apps (HD, Tracker, ...) were taking control of the phone easily. Which was not an issue at all. These did not harm the phone. They just it better.
I would love the use the Handy day or the Magic Profiles that I used to own on the P900.
