Hey people, im sure there are a few people here who use a windows mobile device and have no doubt (if theyve found THIS forum then theyl have found xda-.com) use the xda-dev site for help and fixes for thier device(s).

MS has decided that they are to remove all ROM files which are unuseable unless you have a WM capable device, to have a WM capable device you must have in the process paid MS for a license (part of the purchase price). It seems the best testing and research they have for the platform is soon going down the tubes!

There is a petition online here http://www.petitiononline.com/xdadevs/petition.html

Regards.

Hi all,
Sorry but this is crazy as after we have paid for our devices and that site charges nothing for makeing fixes for problems available if anything MS should be congratulating if not paying them for improving and fixing faults in their OS. I have of course now signed the petition.

You feel the frustration naturally. The petition began today and we are looking at nearly 900 signatures already!

Just such a shame the legal boffs in MS dont have the same views as (i would bet) the developers in MS. The SHEER ammount of people who use xda-devs every day for support and guides, not to mention customization is the exact reason why it should be supported by MS and not squished!

Just finished signing the petition...i've been a reasonably regular visitor over at xda-dev in the recent years, since jumping on to the wm bandwagon...and have never ceased to be amazed at the immense knowledge the forum holds ..not to mention the variety of customization options available through the rom archive. Its a shame MS does not recognize the contribution this site has made towards the wm community over the years
