I would like to change my CDA on my K800i to the generic CDA so I can install R1GB001.
Is there a way I can change it for free

Have no idea if you want free. I change CDA and update firmware at the same time using kulan.

Second, do you mean to change CDA as to debrand the phone?
If so, the you will find all the answers at the link from above or search topsony forum/tutorials.
In my opinion (as i have R1GB FW) it is not worth upgrading from R1ED.
I upgraded it by mistake (via SEUS to fix "Operation Failed" message), and now I can't modify my phone as it is CID51.
