I'm thinking of switching from orange to t-mobile ...as oranges £3 per mb on payg is shocking and thats all i mostly use my phone for (data)
Ive heard that web and walk is available to payg customers is this correct?
If so how do i go about activating this on the t-mobile sim?
I've got loads of t-mobile sims here...does it have to be any kind of special sim ?
Thanks

No special sim - 'unlimited' Web and Walk for PAYG is opt in if you activate the Sim after (I think) Oct last year.
The charges are 0.73p a Kb up to a daily maximum usage charge of £1.00
There is a cap of 40MB per day for that £1.00 which is bloody good for PAYG really. But, don't browse over midnight or they charge the lot at 0.73p rather than cap it at a £1.00
You can't use it for anything other than phone use i.e. modem access, VOIP
On contract you get:
1GB fair usage for 7.50 month (phone only)
3BG fair usage for 12.50 month (phone, modem acess etc but no VOIP)
Plus there is another more expensive one to cover VOIP too

Hi J273,
The second contract price is actually £10 per month not £12.50 and i would think the easiest way to check is to call the nice friendly helpful customer service people. Which I am sure you are not used having been on Orange. But if you really are going to use the Data rather than paying £1 a day max you could get a flext 20 tariff that gives you £34 of usage over voice or texts to mix as you please and for another £7.50 add the Web N Walk plus of course you can get either a free phone or pay a small amount and get something you really want. I not sure of the deals available just now but sign up on the Web as last time i looked they were giving a £5 per month discount for the whole contract so look at what you would get for less than just the £1 a day data charges. IMO T-Mobile are easily the best value network out there just now especially for anyone that uses Data and thier coverage and customer service are excellent also.

@J273
I use the t-moible tariff for Data and it is capped at £1/day.
Also, although in the terms and conditions it says this is only for phone use, if you give them a ring they will get your phone working as a modem for your pc/laptop very easily. I have been using it since last year and never had any caps or restrictions.

I don't see it online either but when I got my sim only for £7.50/month I just called them up and they added web'n'walk on for an extra £7.50/month
perhaps they don't do that any more?

@masseur
Ah. I will ask them if it can be added. I thought that was contract only. How do you pay - by Direct Debit?
