My friend did an experiment of flashing a K790i with a K800i f/w. The flash went smoothly but afterwards, the phone is never alive. It's dead. Any way out to make it alive again? Thanks.

I am not surprised it killed the phone. Try reflashing using wotan and the correct firmware for the phone.

He had again flashed a correct K790i f/w and the flash went OK, but it remained dead. Hm, what's wrong, anyway?

If reflashing the MAIN and FS didn't work, it's probably having something to do with the GDFS of the phone. Tough luck.

Really stupid way to lose a phone, though. Can't believe he did that hahaha.

Why would he do that? It's not like he was gonna get 3G, a new music player or anything. I don't even think the two phones have the same hardware. It's like flashing a W800 with W850 fw.

K790 GDFS is damaged, it is different than K800, therefore he has to Restore original GDFS, then flash the phone with K790 FW.
now there is big difference is it K790a or K790i?
they use different frequency bands and therefore Band chip inside them is different.
