Hmmm, not much help to you, but I had this exact prob with a W810 about a month ago!
A generic Europe_2 model, not locked.......I used SEUS to update the f/w(from R1BC to R1ED), and stripped it down to check the BT ariel was in place(it was).....didn't make a blind bit of difference tho....
Intrigued to know what causes this? A dead BT chip, maybe??

@tipu_ro: red blinking light in the IR means that the battery is drained. charge it.

I just updated the software on my K800i and now the screen isn't as bright as it was before...I can go into the settings and change it back to how it SHOULD be, but as soon as the automatic key lock activates, the screen goes back to being extremely dim...anybody know what I can do to solve this problem?

alright, that would save more battery power for you

...joking..
not much help for you...have you checked display brightness setting??
or if you are saying, when the keypad is locked display goes dim?well that's the way it should be....but if when you unlock, display is still dim, then that's the problem.........try to update your firmware again, maybe that could help

Mine does that too with the keypad lights, think it a little firmware glitch, though doesn't usually cause me a problem, just a slight inconvenience at times!

if this is a firmware glitch then it should be gone with newer firmware,i just updated software, before that, screen used to go all white and then turned off all in less than a sec,but now screen doesn't go white(it's ok),it just goes off..
better:D
