according to p9nineo

Instructions for installation chinese language

1. Connect your M600i /P990i to your PC via file transfer mode.
2. In the root of your M2 stick's assigned drive letter, create a folder named: Resource
3. Now go into Resource folder, and create a subfolder named: Fonts
4. Copy all 5 files into ResourceFonts folder and reboot the phone.

Currently no software as yet to write Chinese On P990i.

My questions are following:
1. what is M2 Stick?
2. where do I save the file to phone or memory stick?
3. Do I have to do anything after its installed in either phone or memory stick?

M2 stick just means the memory card.

Seeing as you have a P990 it will just mean you copy the files onto the Memory stick!

Make a folder on your memory stick called "Resources"
Then make a folder within the Resources folder called "Fonts"
Then copy the files there.

Finally restart your phone with the memory stick inserted and you should have the chinese fonts. If you don't want the fonts, simply restart the phone with the memory stick removed.

Please note that you will not have any itallics or bold fonts anymore though, which is the reason why I will be flashing my phone to the Singapore firmware tonight which has the chinese font by default!

Look here for info to change the CDA of the phone. Singapore version is CDA162007/8.

I am not sure why you are having so much trouble with the instructions.

The memory stick should be set up as follows:

e.g if X:\\ is your memory stick

X:\\Resources\\Fonts\\

Resources and Fonts being two separate folders.

All files should be put in the Fonts folder.

@nokiamaniax:
It might work, but I wouldn't recommend it. One guy loaded too big fonts on his W950 and renderred it unbootable (it ran out of memory). Since the W950's "memory stick" is built in, you can't remove it to fix booting problems. I guess SE won't help you (for free) on this point since you'd be the one who "destroyed your phone"...
