I have recently started to experience some problems with the hardware back button on the left side of the M600i. Sometimes it works with various pressures and places on the button with a fingernail, and sometimes not at all.
I tried a firmware update in case it was software related but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced similar failures with switches?

i experienced the same problem. now my back button does not work at all! just waiting for a time when i can be without my phone for a few days so i can send it to an SE service centre. I actually started having problems about 2 months ago - just kind of got used to it not working now!

My K800 has this problem, it wont press down at all, or make a click, almost like it is touch sensitive, very annoying!
