So we know that the KulanKendi debranding solution works on both the P990 and W950i (see this thread for details - http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=141900) but nobody yet has reported any success with the M600i. One poster (Mike.P) in another thread reported that the KK server programme claimed both his M600's were "prototypes" and wouldn't work with them - so has anyone found a solution for this?

I've have a credit ready and waiting to try on my own M600i, but unfortunately I've just moved house and don't have the internet at home yet (waiting for the bb to be switched back on), so I probably won't be able to try it for a few more days at least. I've emailed the author of KK to ask if he knows about any problem or fix for the M600, but no reply as yet. So has anyone else tried it, and if so, what were the results?

I think the early Vodafone M600i's (as opposed to the later, lighter branded versions) have some of the heaviest and most flawed branding ever, so I'd expect a lot of interest in a home debranding solution like this - if it works...

No, the programme did not claim my 2 M600is were prototypes, I know they are as it says so on the IMEI sticker and therefore I am presuming that is why they will not flash.
Anybody that has a release phone may have more luck.

Ah, that's good news (for me!) - sorry, I thought you were saying that KK had reported that in error... so there's still a reasonable chance it'll work on a non-proto M600, I'm just surprised nobody else has tried it yet.

To be honest i cant see a problem with it, they all use the same os so as long as you put the right CDA code in it should change it!

Kulan Kendi said i have balls of steel, for trying it on my w950 all we need now is someone to try it on their m600, this would have been done already but unfortunately Mikep has two prototypes so it wont allow him!

All i can say is give it a go!

But don't blame me if it goes tits up!

It does help, and I already made a note of it from a screenshot you posted in the last update thread

Unfortunately, until Orange (nee Wannadoo, nee Freeserve) pull their finger out and switch my broadband on, I can't even attempt it. Believe me, if I could I'd have done it yesterday, if not the day before!

OK OK OK!!

Don't say we aint helpfull. We have all 3 versions of the SE PDA's and have been forced to try this service out, as we can fix whatever happens to them, or replace them.

We have some test handsets here, our own lol.

I can report that KulanKendi DOES support the M600i or at least our one lol.

We have succesfully changed the CDA using the client, so I hope this helps people in whether to go for it or not.

Anyway, the usual, I will not be held responsible for you screwing your phone based on the above info. It worked for us but aren't guaranteein it'll work for you.

Peace!!

So it looks like it wont work because mine are prototypes

Have you had any dealings with flashing a proto M600i ?

SE-Unlock, that's great news, and you're a big man for posting it, all things considered! Seriously, thanks for that. In all honesty, if you'd been down the road rather than in Scotland I'd have sent my phone to you weeks ago, it's only geography that lead to this
