My K790a's volume is fine, way louder than my W800's. You can't hear anything on that thing!

Fixed
Whipped da front case off, and one of the gold contacts was bent, meaning it wasn't connecting to the board, hence distortion etc etc, Bent it back carefully, and now its working fione

You said the phone was still in warranty
and you took the case off, doesn't that void the warranty.

I have opened (dismantled) SE-phones many times and even sent in a k750 with a unresponsive joystick and they repaired it for free under warranty even tho the water contact sticker turned pink. ^^ Really glad.
It seems that in later models, there ain’t a “warranty void if sticker tampered” sticker in em’. So if you're confident and if you don't bother waiting for days for your phoned to be repaired, maybe it's okay to d.i.y. if you're confident enough

Yep, but i carnt find the recipet, for proof of purchase or anything, and to be honest, its not really hard once the cover is off, its basically bog standard electronics, and common knowledge!
Speaker is easy enuff to clean replace, so is the back case, and the front, as long as you know how to force the M2 flap off
they keypad, has 2 tiny clips, to press and undo, as does the joystick and selection buttons.... i think :S

So I guess my W800 must have the same problem. The call volume is completely unbearable. I can't hear anything even with a little wind around.
