> Apple or Vista?
Bookmark topic
My current situation, I have a Compaq Presario desktop pc 1 yr old running XP, and i have a 4 yr old Compaq Presario laptop also running XP.
I am currently looking into replacing the laptop, for something a bit smaller and lighter running Vista or perhaps an Apple Laptop!
As i have never owned an apple before (pc that is!

) can anyone give me advice on Apple laptops and its software, and do you think it is wise to have 2 operating systems albeit on two different computers?
And if i go for an Apple i am not bothered about it being new, so suggestions on a good second hand laptop also please!
Thanks in advance!

once you go mac, you will never go back.
i love my imac i got just under a year ago.
depends on your usage but if you use your pc for: web, music, films you will not go wrong with a mac.
It didnt even take that much time to get used to it either, and i'd used windows since the days of 3.1.
i still use windoze at work but its a breath of fresh air when i get home and can get back on my mac,
OSX is amazing. i've had to reboot twice, once to install xp on a seperate partition and the second time to remove xp from the parition.
i really can't reccomend macs enough, and as i have said i was a seasoned windows bod.

Im a PC user but i would encourage you to go for a Mac, I have been thinking very seriously of making the jump myself but due to work commitments and other factors im still stuck with PC..for now..i have every intention of moving onto Macs at some point very soon....Why?..because they are so much less headache....Windows has given me nothing but endless problems over the years, ever since Windows 95 actually ..I don't think Microsoft is capable of building a perfect OS such as Apple's.
Take a look at this guide ,its quite helpfull

Cheers Fatreg!
At the mo i use the PC for everything but i bought it for business use really! i wanna get a new laptop to start using that for my leisure time ie surfing watching vids etc.
as i have a 250gb hard drive on the pc, i store all my music on there is it still possible to access the folders wirelessly between the mac and pc? (or is that a stupid question?

I have been using an ibook for 4 years and now to a Macbook...
At work I have to go back and work on a Windows machines... ok... they are Windows XP at best... but I find them awkward...
I set up wifi internet at one of my friends houses the others day... it might just be me... but my macbook and even my p990i connected before the newer windows laptop did... took 3 hours and I had to reinstall the WIFI drivers!!!
It was a nightmare...
OK not at much software and games for Macs... but they are more user friendly...

Though I'm not personally reccomending a mac since enough lemmings will do that already...
Make a list of what you want your laptop to do, Google up on it to see if one OS or the other can't do the things you're looking at doing. If you have specific software needs whether its available for either or, then you can come to a decision. At the end of the day if both OS's do what you want then just make a judgment call. If OSx or Windows can't, then you know which to go for to keep your own needs satisfied.
In regards to networking them both, shouldn't be a problem at all nanu.

I purchased my first Mac about 8 months ago and haven't touched my P4 PC since. My suggestion is definetaley Mac and you know you could install and run Windows on Mac just incase you have need for it.
