Hi,
I have setup an account with chatnu.dk which works fine. Does anyone know how I can get my messages quicker than I do currently? I have it linked with my MSN account but when someone sends me a message it takes a couple of minutes before I see it.
Does anyone else use this service?
Thanks

Hi Craig
Most recent SE mobiles support TCP CIR, and if your chat server also supports it then it will alert you the instant a message has been received.
If TCP/CIR is not supported by either the message service or your mobile then your W850i will poll for messages every 30 seconds or so and I don't think this can be speeded up, but if it can then it can be done in the settings of your IMPS account.
Try looking for 'changing the polling interval' - although shortening the polling interval uses more data.
Hope this helps.

That makes sense.
Right now I have it logged in to see what kind of data usage occurs. I have reset the data counter and left it logged in. I'll log out after a few hours or something and check to see how much data gets used.

If anyone was wondering what kind of data usage is involved with My Friends I have done a small test.
'My Friends' Logged in,
Each minute my phone connects,
Connection lasts between 2 and 6 seconds
Sent Data 679 bytes
Received Data 341 bytes
This happens every minute approx. If you work it out that equates to rougly 44mb a month. Anyone who doesn't have a lot of data in their tarif might want to not leave this logged in all the time!

That seems a lot! Nearly 1.4mb per day. Have you tried one of the java apps like Reporo to compare the data usage?

I have only tried Mig33 but as yet I haven't had the chance to properly compare the data usage

I need help to set up My Friends with msn IM. I put the msn server and all, but it doesnt connect. I use the same internet connection profile for My Friends and Opera Mini(works ok with Opera) and nothing happens.

You needs to signup with a IMPS server. The only one I could get working (on advice from someone here) was
www.chatnu.dk which unfortunately is in German.
I fumbled my way through the signup and created an account and it works great. I find that it uses a huge amount of data though.
