looks like the touch screen concept is really building up with the announcment of the iphone and some others.
all are trying to avoid the use of keys and expand screen size!
iphone has come up a good inovation too.
so does anybody have any good ideas that SE can use or something?

something like....the mid size icons get zoomed when you bring your finger near it!...thats my thought...

ah, thought u ment zooming for the cam. anyway, that touchpad things biggest problem for me are the fingerprints. its really not that nice when the screen is full with those. but one thing is sure, its the future solution..

I pretty much only use touchscreen these days. anything else for me is not serious. I'm not sure how much more you can do for touchscreen and I doubt we'll proximity sensors to do as you have suggested.

probably the next biggest move for touchscreens will be 3d or holographic versions. But I guess if they are like that we won't really be touching them in the same sense that we do today

how about a material that is finger-proof ?

masseur, i'm so used to the m600 touchscreen, that, when i see something on the pc display and i want to clean it, i touch it so gently so i dont push anything, even it does not have touchscreen

finger proof? I don't have a problem with that really. I probably clean the screen once a week or so.

I suppose if you are obsessive compulsive it might be a problem though

and I suppose there are always screen protectors, though I have never used one myself

but my idea would be cool right?
i mean imagine few icons on the screen, you want to click "settings" you bring you finger above the icon and it zooms in so that you can have a safer click!!

if its faster you will able to type faster too!
