I've just dropped - accidentally - my P990 on a recipient with water. Few seconds after that, I've got it back, but no more start up.

When I power it on, I just got the SonyEricsson screen, the "hello music" and the phone freezes till the battery is drained.

I was able - via the deskstand - to perform a successfull SEUS (ports recognized, software downloaded and updated), but even after that, nothing different happens.

I'm just looking forward to the "open the cage" stage...any suggestions?

@danmast - Try to DRY it more first BEFORE - opening. TRY blowing the EXTERIOR part/shell using a HAIR dryer, be careful with the LCD though . . . if everything else FAIL, then TRY opening it, but HOLD . . . is it still under warranty

Warranty doesnt cover water damage. Let it check by experts asap and ask for sonic bath, that might help

Best thing to do as soon as possible is to turn the phone off, take the battery out and leave it somewhere warm like an airing cupboard for a couple of days to dry out fully then try again, though it sounds like it's been on for a little while now.

If you get a phone wet, you need to take that battery out immediately and leave to dry as the current from the battery speeds up any corrosion. Do this even if the phone seems to work after - it will probably work for a couple of days then slowly die!

@dan - If you are NOT a certified celfone-technician . . . I mean have TOTALLY no experience repairing on one, might as well ask for HELP from friends or relatives . . . The P990 has conplicated parts inside . . . . don't PRACTICE on it . . .
