> WAP gateway for GPRS
Bookmark topic
I have T-Mobile in California. The IP they provided does not work well for most sites because it can not handle file size larger than 4-5kB.
I have been using an IP someone suggested from
www.phoneimage.com (194.237.106.073) from Halebop.com. It's been working great until the past couple of days. I can't seem to connect anymore.
Is anyone using this IP and have the same problem. Does anyone have another WAP gateway I can try.
Thanks,
joE

Which IP are you using? The one from T-Mobile or the one I posted from
www.phoneimage.com
I am hoping someone in the group would shed some light here.

sfaguy...hey, can you tell me if you are using a T68? And if so, where are you inputing this gateway ip address? I tried it and it completely does not even get a connection. I have only one place to put that ip address...under WAP services, under wap profiles..GPRS. I thought there was a gateway ip setting but there isn't.
Thanks

I use this with my Comviq GPRS, and it works fairly good (at least alot better than the crappy default).
212.97.206.33, Mobilix DK
There's a list of gateways here:
http://gateway.has.it/ Try which one works best for you.

Or you can always set up your own wap gateway, it's pretty cool.

you need Cygwin to make it work on Win32

I tried it and it worked, but not with all pages, it had to do with the XML parser that couldn't handle ÅÄÖ (swedish letters) on some pages, other than that it worked perfectly.

Halebop does seem to have been down for the last couple of days. Anyone else had trouble using Halebop recently?

Avo135 -
I have a T68i. I put the gateway IP in my WAP profile. Go to WAP
services, Options, WAP profiles, select your profile, Edit, then IP.

Thank you for your IP 193.95.167.178, it seems to work great!!
Simonize -
I looked at the list of gateways you suggested. Some of them include
user/password. Do I just ignore then or I must include them in my
profile? By the way, the 212.97.206.33 works great as well!
A big THANK YOU for everyone who responded to my posting.
