Part(2) p990i tips&tricks


* use opera mini,you will save 80% of your GPRS invoice.
* Disable animations and images in opera & opera mini.
* Install opera mini on phone Memory(will be faster).

1- Turn off any screen savers (they shall drop battery power).
2- Disable USB charging when you update your phone.
3- Don't run any app in background (opera,camera)(exept background app that the phone needs.
4- The phone in FC mode is more stable than FO mode.(noticed by me).
5- Try to end all app in task manager and close the flip and then try again to(end all)app and close flip,you will gain minimum 200 kb of RAM(noticed by me and many users).
6- Use the original themes made by the UIQ company(they are more stable).
7- When you are in any writing mode in FO mode and a call come in, press the space bar and the N button, the call will be rejected.
8- Always route answered calls to Bluetooth headset(if you have one).
9- Don't restore contacts from your Memory Stick, restore them only from the outlook contacts.

10- Do restore from backedup data on your pc only unified inbox when you have updated your phone.

11- if the phone 'freezed' DO NOT you ever take the battery away,instead of that just press and hold the power button for more than 10 seconds and the phone will be turned off.

12- if you turned your phone off wait minimum 2 minutes to restart it again.

there will be more and more tips about(updating service and the right use of your phone and...etc) for the soon future(part 3&4&5..).

please we should make this topic unified and helpful for all people to ease their searching for tips.

cuz if there is any bugs in the previous F/W there will be a posibility these bugs may return in the new F/W.

i am using my lovely p990 in flip open mode and I would like to know if there is any possible way to change the shortcuts that appear on the bottom of the display. Currently there are Events, Menu, Call, Call Log..

What a load of crap, the backup of your contact on the memory card is just one big V-Card. A standard which has been around since the Nokia 5140.

@al_1982a,your part 1 tips were very useful.Why not merge thse tips in them and also the future tips??also,it would be nice it the tiops were arranged properly under different groups like camera,applications,web,calls etc.
