The third installment of StartTAC series, StarTACIII will debut in Korea in early March, announced Motorola.
ESATO NEWS
StarTACIII is the reinterpretation of StarTAC’s design and function from the present view, according to Motorola. Retro style is the main concept of the product that is free of unnecessary functions and concentrates on basics, explained the phone maker.The company focused on improving communication quality and exterior design. The new version of StarTAC features music, GPS and mobile banking, but no camera module.

My very firstist phone was the startac (only Motorola i used) and i loved it but it only lasted 8 months and the aerial snapped off!!
This one looks nice too, as i think Motorola make really ugly phones at the mo!

yeh i think everyone's owned a Startac at some point, i remember it was classed as the pinnacle of design at the time.

Nope, this one is Tri-band GSM unlike its predecessor.

Thanks for linking that "blast from the past" thread.
I must say i do prefer the look of that previous version, it somehow looks more elegant and retains the original startac look like you mentioned.

I still have an old startac, and my original V3 and the V3688 but startac is probably in my top 3 all time fav phones

I agree,there was something about that Original Startac..i loved mine back in the days aswell, i think its popularity is probably more to do with the fact that it was the first real clamshell mobile.

that wasn't it for me.
I've always had a major dislike of clams, even since then. I think it was simply its beam-me-up-scotty appeal and very pocketable size
