> M600i SMS Inbox: "Not found"
Bookmark topic
Help! When I try to open the SMS inbox on my M600i it just comes up with "Not found". I can view all the other folders in the SMS account.
I've had a search around and can't find anything about this problem.
I've tried restarting the phone, but this hasn't helped.
Ideas?

have you tried reinstalling the firmware and seeing if that helps?

I had a similar problem with my w950i. In the end I took it back to o2 for a replacement. The new one hasn't had the same problem since.

I've flashed the firmware (debranded!) and it's fine.

I have the same problem on a p990i
It seems I received a push WAP message which launched the web browser, and now everytime i go into the SMS inbox "information: not found".
I have to sort the messages by sender for ANY to appear, and even then a "mark->mark all" and delete, fails with the same spurious error
"information:not found"
I have asked SE support about it, but it seems whoever wrote their messaging program for UIQ3 didn't do a very good job.
I would settle for a more sane error message, but what you get is ridiculous

Pathetic, SE's only response, do a master reset or send it in for re-flashing.
It is clearly a software fault, and they could sort it out by writing a small program to empty everything from your inbox, but will they let a developer spend half a day writing such a simple program and make it available for download, nope.
I am begining to hate my p990 now, it really is a turkey.

What about access your Inbox from the PC using one of the avail PC tools that will talk to the Phone and extract/update the SMS inbox ?
E.g. something like 'float' or similar.

Hi
I think we all need a software update for the M600i
current version:
Phone: CXC162037 R9EC001
Bluetooth: CXC162058 R3A01
Organizer: CXC162058 R5B02
CDA: CDA162011/1 R5B02
Bugs apart of the one you mentioned:
1-Unexpected crashes on contacts and message management.
2-Contact images become corrupted upon contact edition. They look crappy afterwards.
3-Contact lookup fails for some contacts aleatory. An existing contact calls me and I see his/her number instead of his/her picture and name. Of course I cannot restrict or prioritize any call if the phone is unable to lookup the number from the contact information. Once that happen for a certain contact, I could delete it, recreate it etc, but his/her number will never be looked up from contacts list again. Only a full phone master reset will help with all data loss along and unfortunately for a while only.
4-After phone master reset the standard themes coming from factory software are lost forever and only the default theme and language remain. I can only recover them by downloading (on my phone expenses) via GPRS/3G - WAP from Sony Ericsson site.
5-The automatic keypad lock does not always work. Sometimes it locks after 15 seconds of inactivity.
6-Voice control data is not save on backups. So lost for ever every time a master reset happens. No worth the lost time to get it programmed as it is lost on the way.
7-Synchronization with Outlook Express results on Mobile Phone being entered as Home Phone and by times on Work Phone (Using the same address book it makes no sense, does it?)
8-Backup does not work when software failures start (normally after some hours of last full phone setup) and so I cannot save my data before a master reset has to be done. Next setup has to be done manually again. That is my current and annoying situation.
Please help me to push Sony Ericsson and Symbian to resolve ASAP the bugs with a new software release. I have even contacted the management board at Sony. I hope to get answers and commitments.
Many of these bags were posted in summer last years and never fixed after few software releases. Hereby some links:

The reason why you have problem accessing your inbox is likely due to a wap push that is unviewable but yet resident in your phone memory. You couldn't view it, so you couldn't delete it as well.
I had the same problem on my W950i but managed to resolve it by doing the following:
Go to Main Menu, Tools, Control Panel, Device, Storage Wizard.
Click on Next twice to view applications on the phone memory.
Select Messaging. When you see Inbox, select Cleanup, with removal range set to All.
Hope this helps
