How come I have to pay each time I want to update my firmware using Wotan Server?
Am I doing something wrong or extra that doesn't need to be done and thats causing my 1 credit to be taken? Or does it actually cost money to update?
Can someone please give me step by step instructions on what to do (or just post what NOT to do) to update my firmware?

In case you are not joking, yes you have to pay for every finalization. It is third party that does this for profit.
For free update service by Sony Ericsson, you have to use SEUS or authorised service centre (if you still got warranty).

lol nah i wasnt joking, but i was kinda confused since SEUS dus it for free and then sum1 else chnarges for it. i thot i was doing sum extra feature that wasnt neccesary.
but how long dus it usually take for an update to come out on SEUS after Wotan gets it? im styll waiting for R1J

Well wotan/kulan/DVT exist because SEUS/FOTA only allows you to install newer firmware. It does not allow you to install older firmware (in case you can't live with the bug introduce in newer firmware). Also these services allows you to change language(CDA) of the phone. It also allows unbranding and ussually newer firmware appear faster here than in SEUS. Other benefit is it does complete reflash (SEUS/FOTA only part flashing) from your home (only service centre do this and it ussually take time). Complete reflash sometime is necessary to fix some problem.
So in a sense it gives extra to what SEUS/FOTA/service centre did for a small fee. But if you have no need for this then it is off course no use for you to pay, just wait for SEUS and you will be OK.
Edit: I change my wife Z610 language using kulan and wotan. But my K800 only use SEUS exclusively.
