hi, the speaker ound cracks when i play certain songs at any volume level (wave format). Also unlike my previous nokia phone, mp3 songs cant be set as ringtones.
help please

u guessed right dude. its a CINGULAR phone. would reloading the software debrand my phone? also, i cant choose most of my mp3 songs as my ring tune? is that also coz of the branding?

you probably cant set MP3 files because of the branding, try using the SE DRM tool to add DRM to your mp3's and it will probably work?
It's the same with vodafone branded phones

As for the cracking, i think what you are describing is the sound 'peaking' or being too loud for the speaker.
If you have messed with the EQ that will cause this and also some songs will be mixed louder than others so when you have the phone set to ring at loud volume it will distort or 'crack' as you put it.
