As a stingy student im trying my best not to go over my bill, currently with orange and cant wait to get out the contract, anyway going over my bill tonight and i've been charged for recieving promotional messages from 60044 numbers and 80122 in a month they've totalled about £15 with VAT which is money no one can afford to throw away really!
I know i need to send a reply saying stop to them or whatever but to where? normally these texts have a different number to reply to and i dont wana get charged to reply to a number that wont make it stop!
I don't really wana wait to get another message and get charged again before I can stop it!
Anyone got any idea how to make them stop before I go in the orange shop and make a tit out of myself tomorrow? x

That's ridicolouse that you get charged for receiving those kind of text messages. There is away stopping those type of text messages but you have to contact orange and tell them that you don't wan't to receive these type of messages anymore and they will stop it for you. Well T-mobile was going to to stop it for me when i had a problem when people was sending me text about dating services and meeting singles girls (oh please) but i changed my mind because if i went ahead of the barring of these type of messages then it was going to bar my weekly texts alerts from my bank.

@lucy - Looks like I've experienced this thing in the past . . . though at my end, it is usually being followed by a TEXT which states: If you wish to UNSUBSCRIBE please REPLY: NO . . . but just to be sure, I went to one of the network's business centers and have it remedied . . . maybe you can simply call them on their HOTLINE

One of the messages I get does have text STOP to "Whatever number" but as i didn't think it was costing me anything as it was just a promo message I just delete them as they come, they were beginning to irritate me as i get 1 or 2 a week but I jus deleted them as soon as I got them cuz i didnt think i was paying for the luxury of complete spam.

Well, when you've deleted them, I suppose you'll have to wait till you get another one and then text STOP to the number it came from.
