I have always been a zelous Ericsson fan. Always. I am currently a happy owner of a T68m(ie) with R5D007.

Recently, I have done a lot of research and came to the conclusion that T68 is still number one phone ever. It beats any other phone on the market when it comes to richness and comprehensiveness of features, design and overall performance.

Nokia....well, they keep bringing out 25 models every year but none of them are tri-band, lack Bluetooth capability, and are not user-friendly.

The following are the features that every phone MUST have:

GPRS
HSCSD
Email Client
Tri-band functionality
Bluetooth
IrDa
Calendar
SynML
Synchronisation
Color display
Voice dialing and voice memo
MMS, SMS, vibrating call alert

No phone on the market besides T68 and P800 has all these features.... I think despite Software updates Ericsson has to release every once in a while, I will always stick to Sony Ericsson phones because they make phones with COMPREHENSIVE features. Sony Ericsson Rules!!!

Well, 90%(all but the budget fones) of the new nokia phones are TRI-Band, Oh and the Panasonic GD87, has all but the bluetooth!! Better colour screen, polyphonic ringtones, built in camera!!!!!!!

I had the t68i, sold it!! not as good as all you are saying, I never used bluetooth, and can't think of any reason why i would need to at the moment!!!

after all they are only phones!!, you use them to makes calls, why do you all get sooo offended when someone mentions Nokia, or another brand besides SonyEriccson!!

Well, if you want to use cell phones ONLY to make calls, then go back to older versions of Nokia and Ericsson with monochrome 2-line screens.

The future of cell phones belongs to those who produce phones with the following criteria:
(1) Great RF performance
(2) Great Color Screens
(3) Great small design
(4) Richness of features.

Sorry, Nokia is not number one in my eyes....They serve two markets: USA and the rest of the world which sucks!!! They need to start making world phones with a lot of features like Sony Ericsson !!!! Sony Ericsson will always prevail!!!

By the way, Panasonic GD87 does not have HSCSD and Email Client. Plus, standby and talk times are very poor!!!

There is nothing like T68. Zilch! Wanted to get another phone since I usually upgrade at least once a year but I haven't found any phone that even come close to compare with T68. Good job, SE! However, the 256 color screen feels a little old now. P800 will probably be my next purchase.

Well there is Nokia 7210, Samsung S100, Panasonic GD87 and some other phones that have something more than the T68. But NO phone exists today that has ALL (every single one) feature of T68, PLUS additional ones. Most of the above phones may have something that T68 doesn't, but they are all missing some of T68 features.
So yes there is no phone yet that can beat the T68 OVERALL.

There is a problem with "Great" color screens and "great" small design.

Im my eyes, a "great" screen is 4096 colors and above.....however, there is no point having an amazing screen.....if it is not as big as the screen on the 7650 or bigger. So phones are gonna get bigger and bigger to conpensate for the big screens people want. Even the new sharp and panasonic clamshell phones are MUCH bigger than the old motorola V50 etc, simply because they have lovely big screens.

In my opinion the "must have" features of a phone are

Java, not for games but for useful apps
Color screen, min 4096 colors
Bluetooth, for data transfer (I don't use headsets)
PIM possibilities, big and customizable phonebook, calendar
Camera, built in preferred
Gprs, of course...how could I forget that????

So, my T68 is just a spare phone nowadays
